Description	:	Funeral services were held at First English Lutheran Church in Parker, SD, on Oct. 5, 1993 for Delmar Jibben, 62, Parker, who for approximately four decades gained popularity throughout this area as a musical entertainer at many events during that time. Mr. Jibben's death came unexpectedly at his daughter's residence at Parker. He got his start with a musical group that he organized and called "The Middleton Tunecrackers", subsequently changing the name of the group to "The Moonshiners." Mr. Jibben's death came unexpectedly at his daughter's residence at Parker. Mr. Jibben was born Jun. 1, 1931, the son of Henry F.and Jennie (Stack) Jibben, on a farm four miles south of Chancellor. He attended country school in Turner County and Hurley High School. His musical group, "The Moonshiners," were together since approximately 1954. In addition to his musical group, Mr. Jibben also farmed and worked as a carpenter. Mr. Jibben was united in marriage to Ruth Jesse on Aug. 29, 1955, at the Turner County First Presbyterian Church parsonage, rural Davis, SD. They mad their home on the family farm south of Chancellor, later moving to a farm near Parker in 1960. Mr. Jibben's survivors include the following: his wife, Ruth, Parker; a daughter, VaLoy Wilson, of Parker; a son, LaMont (Farm Gas Co-op Manager) and his wife, Marlene, Parker; and four grandchildren, Nikki and Jordan Wilson, and Jessica and Darren Jibben, all of Parker. Mr. Jibben was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Elmore and and infant sister.
