Hobaugh, 47, counselor, teacher, coach WILLIAMSPORT - Delmar Lee Hobaugh, 47, 0f Route 2, was fatally injured in a farm tractor accident at 2:45 p.m. Monday on County Road 400 South, a narrow gravel road known as Ghost Hollow, about three miles west of Williamsport. Hobaugh, 47, counselor, teacher, coach WILLIAMSPORT - Delmar Lee Hobaugh, 47, 0f Route 2, was fatally injured in a farm tractor accident at 2:45 p.m. Monday on County Road 400 South, a narrow gravel road known as Ghost Hollow, about three miles west of Williamsport. Mr. Hobaugh, a counselor and truancy intervention officer for School District 118 in Danville Ill., for the last 16 years, was on spring break. He had borrowed the farm tractor to do some work at his home where he raised horses. He was going downgrade when the blade of the tractor hit the bank and the tractor flipped, fatally injuring him. Born in Marshfield on Oct. 22, 1942, he had lived in Warren County all his life. He graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1960 and Indiana State University in 1965. He received his masters degree and had just completed his education administrative degree, both at ISU. Before working at School District 118, he taught at Seeger Memorial and Covington high schools. He also had been a coach of basketball, football and track. He married Norma R. Jones on July 14, 1961, in West Lebanon, and she survives. Mr. Hobaugh loved horses and lived on a horse farm. He showed horses, was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and had received many trophies from the horse shows that he participated in. He also did horseshoeing. He was a 4-H Fair board member and was on the horse and pony committee. Mr. Hobaugh was a member of West Lebanon Christian Church, where he was a deacon and had just concluded two years as chairman of the board. He also had taught Sunday School classes for all ages. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Holly L. Hobaugh and Nikki L. Hobaugh, both at home; his mother, Mary L. Hobaugh of Marshfield; and two brothers, Larry Hobaugh of Route 2, Williamsport, and Harold Hobaugh of Covington. The Lafayette Journal & Courier, April 11, 1990.
