He was born July 8, 1927, in Hampton, Iowa, to Gerald and Edna (Wallace) Koch. Delmar graduated from Hansell Consolidated High School. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Davis on January 18, 1948, in Hansell; she preceded him in death. He was then united in marriage to Gladys Dirksen Kinsel on February 2, 1965. Delmar was a farmer. He operated Koch truck line and was a hog buyer for Farmland Foods. After retiring from Farmland Foods, he drove truck for Sukup Manufacturing Company. Delmar was a member of Lions Club and Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. He also served on the Hansell School Board, the Sheffield Chapin School Board, and the Zion St. John Lutheran Church council. Delmar was a Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed woodworking. Delmar is survived by his children Kirby (Carolyn) Koch of Iowa Falls, Karen (Denny) Feeley of Albert City, Kimberly (Bob) Jensen of Sheffield, Kent (Cindy) Koch of Sheffield, Steve (Jean) Koch of Fort Dodge, Kae (Rich) Stuhr of Shelby, Patti (Tim Johnson) Hintz of Dexter, Minnesota, and Alan (Jodi) Koch of Azel, Texas, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Edna, wives Dorothy and Gladys, son Kevin and sister Geraldine.
