Description	:	Delmar Ralph Stewart, son of Sam and Maude (Wells) Stewart, was born February 3, 1923 at Randalia, Iowa. After graduating from Randalia High School in 1941 he started farming on the home place. On August 11, 1946 Delmar was united in marriage to Naomi Christensen at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Iowa and five children were born to this union. Read More	Delmar Ralph Stewart, son of Sam and Maude (Wells) Stewart, was born February 3, 1923 at Randalia, Iowa. After graduating from Randalia High School in 1941 he started farming on the home place. On August 11, 1946 Delmar was united in marriage to Naomi Christensen at the Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Iowa and five children were born to this union. He continued farming on the home place and in 1953 purchased the farm on Highway 56 where they farmed until 1988. They then moved into West Union. Delmar semi-retired in 1990, but was still helping on the farm until his death. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization, Farm Bureau, was a 50 year member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and had held numerous positions on the church council. He won the Iowa Corn Picking Contest in 1964 which was held in Sioux Falls, SD. He went on to the National competition and received 5th place. He enjoyed flying, antique cars and hobby farming. Delmar's death occurred July 1, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of complications from a stroke. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Roger; his parents; two brothers, Paul and Harley; grandson, Andy Bryan; granddaughter, Sarah Stewart and two daughters-in-law, Beverly Stewart and Connie Stewart. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Naomi of West Union; two sons, Mark of Elgin and Brian of West Union; two daughters and their husbands, Sheila and Greg Bryan of Westgate and Sue and Tom Sadowsky of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren, Adam W. Stewart, Brooke A. Stewart, Doug Bryan, Christian Stewart and Caryn Stewart and one great-grand son, Alex Bryan.
