Description	:	D.V. "Del" Richardson, 86, of Creston, died, Monday March 29, 2010 at Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston. D.V. "Del" Richardson, son of Lilly S. (Jacobson) and Roy Lon Richardson was born May 3, 1923 in rural Cass Co., Iowa. He graduated from Cromwell High School in 1941. He then worked in Ankeny at the Ordinance Plant. "Del" Richardson, son of Lilly S. (Jacobson) and Roy Lon Richardson was born May 3, 1923 in rural Cass Co., Iowa. He graduated from Cromwell High School in 1941. He then worked in Ankeny at the Ordinance Plant. Del was united in marriage to Verleta "Pat" (Franklin) on July 29, 1945 in Rapid City, S.D.. They settled in Rapid City where he worked for a car dealership and Casper Supply, a parts dealer. In 1950 Del and his family moved to Bedford, Ia. where he worked in seed corn sales, before returning to Creston to work for Kerr-Cochran Dealership as a bookkeeper and parts manager. In the early 1960's Del was hired by Greater Regional Medical Center and began working as a bookkeeper. They later offered him the opportunity to become the Hospital Administrator which he did for the next 27 years retiring in 1985. Del was a member of United Church of Christ (Congregational), Elks Lodge #605, Southwest Iowa Ham Radio Cross Roads Board, Hospital Board and the Southwest Iowa Resources/Conservation Board. Del is survived by two sons: Larry (wife Dawn) Richardson of Creston, Ia. and Roger (wife Karen) Richardson of Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren: Megan (husband Jamie) Travis and Aaron (wife Malissa) Richardson and Doug and Eric Richardson; four great-grandchildren Madison, Tristan and Connor Travis and Noah Richardson. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Pat in 2006 and a sister Irene Duramus.
