Delores Catherine Hankla was born on March 31, 1929, to August W. and Bertha C. (Aschoff) Eilers at their farm home east of Neligh. She attended school and graduated from Tilden High School with the class of 1947. On June 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Orval E. Hankla in Tilden. They celebrated 66 years together. She taught school south of Tilden for three years. Delores was head cook at the nursing home in Neligh for many years and also cooked at the Neligh Senior Center. She was a member of St. Theresa Rosary Sodality. Delores enjoyed quilting, cooking/baking and gardening. She is survived by her spouse, Orval; her children: Kathleen and spouse Peter Pryjmak of Greensburg, Pa., Steven and spouse Linda Hankla of Clearwater, Clarice and spouse John Hynes of Crawford, Mark Hankla of Lincoln, Lynn and spouse Jay Pelster of Omaha and Brian and spouse Mary Hankla of King George, Va. She has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters are Mary Ann Hladovcak of Neligh, Richard and spouse Martha Eilers of Neligh and Carol Jean and spouse Butch Mortensen of Wakefield. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert (Bob) Eilers of Omaha.
