Read More	Delores Edith Weldon Propp, 84, of Billings, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Mont. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Billings, a daughter of Orville and Elizabeth (Pfaff) Weldon, early day homesteaders on Blue Creek. She was raised on the family ranch with her five brothers: George, Ben, Clinton, Charles "Chuck" and Richard "Dick," and one sister, Maeona. Delores had fond memories of her life on the ranch and attending the Basin Creek School on Blue Creek. As a young girl Delores helped with the family dairy, washing and sterilizing milk bottles. She was a member of the Blue Creek Blue Birds 4H Club. The summer after her first year in high school Delores worked at Farmer's Union G.T.A. Elevator. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1946. She was a flag twirler in her junior year. That summer Delores spent some time in New York City at a Citizenship Enrichment, where she met students of every nationality and from all walks of life. She continued on after high school working for Farmers Union Oil Company and Co-Op Service Center, until her retirement after 50 years, in 1996. While working there she had the opportunity to meet many of the Yellowstone Valley farmers and ranchers and business people of Billings. On Sep. 5, 1948, Delores married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Propp, a meat cutter for Spear Meat Company. They made their home in Billings where they shared a life centered around sporting activities, fishing, bowling, horse races and trips to Vegas and Jack Pot. They also enjoyed dancing and fun times with their many friends. For several years, Clarence managed the concessions at Cobb Field and Delores was always there to help. Her hobbies were flower gardening, raising roses and embroidering, until her eyesight failed. Her cookie salad was always a favorite at family pot lucks. Delores was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary, all in Billings. As Delores would say "we were never blessed with children, but lived a happy and rewarding life together for 51 years. We had many nieces and nephews who filled our lives with love and joy." They both enjoyed attending their activities and sporting events. Each of those nieces and nephews has great memories of being a part of Delores and Clarence's lives. Delores was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; an infant sister, Hazel; her husband, Clarence "Clancy;" four brothers; six nephews; and one great-nephew; also, sisters-in-law Mary Weldon, Harriet Weldon, Doris Weldon and Margaret Weldon, Lydia Propp, and Olinda Kimble; plus brothers-in-law Frank Smith, Gilbert Propp, Bob Propp and Elmer Kautz. She is survived by her sister Maeona Smith of Billings; brother, Richard "Dick" (Monica) Weldon of Blue Creek; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Propp Kautz of Worden, Dora Propp of Billings and Cindora Weldon of Sherwood, Ore.; plus 23 nieces and nephews and many greats. The family would like to extend special appreciation to Drs. Fitzgerald, Dr. Malters and to all the doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU Dept at St. Vincent's Hospital. The casket will be open for visitation at Michelotti-Sawyers on Saturday from 9 a.m.-4p.m., Sunday, from 12-4 p.m., and Monday prior to services at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 18, at First English Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Michelotti-Sawyers is in charge of arrangements.
