Description	:	Delores Elaine Olson, the daughter of Walter and Lillie (Weyhrich) Magdanz was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Pierce. She was baptized in February of 1929 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pierce, where she was also confirmed later on. Delores attended District 46 country school, where she graduated from the eighth grade. She worked as a nurse aide at the Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk, Nebraska and also for Dr. Mcvaney Dentist. Delores married Robert I. Olson on Nov. 30, 1952, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Nebraska. They lived on a farm south of Randolph, Nebraska, where they raised their children: Patricia, Robert, Richard, Randall, Jayne and Joan. They later moved into the town of Randolph in November 1975. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Randolph, was very active in Ruth Circle and taught Sunday school. Delores was also a member of the Randolph Rescue Unit from 1978 to 1985. She belonged to the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Randolph and also the Sew and So club. She worked as a C.N.A. at Colonial Manor before graduating with her licensed practical nursing degree in August of 1980. She moved to Norfolk in 1985 and worked at Colonial Manor, Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk, Community Pride Nursing Home in Battle Creek and St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Norfolk before retiring in November 2003. She decided to work part time at the Wesley Crisis Nursery from 2004 to 2007. She moved to Norfolk in May of 1985, where she became a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Norfolk. She belonged to Agape Circle, Piecemakers Quilt group and the V.F.W. Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. Delores E. Olson died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk, Nebraska. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia and husband Russ Adams of Lincoln, NE; sons Richard and spouse Deborah Olson of Randolph, NE and Randall and spouse Lori of Omaha, NE; a daughter, Joan and spouse Mark Kumm of Osmond, NE; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lillie Magdanz; spouse Robert in 1982; daughter Jayne in 1984; son Robert in 2009; one brother and sister in infancy; a sister, Marge Lenser in 2009; and a brother, Kenneth Magdanz in 2009. Services for Delores E. Olson, 87, Norfolk, Nebraska formerly of Randolph, Nebraska, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The Revs. Steve Lund and Matthew Bahnfleth will officiate. Her body was donated for scientific research. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at also at the church in Norfolk and will continue an hour prior to services at the church. Organist for the service is Marsha Burke. Hymns will be “Amazing Grace,” “Just As I Am,” “I Was There To Hear Your Borning Cry” and “Because He Lives.” A Tribute to Mom: "A Pillar of Strength"--Lori Olson.
