Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012, in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. Rev. Paul Janke will officiate. Music will be provided by Carol Janke as organist. Delores was the widow of LaVern Meseberg. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Pallbearers will be Delores’ grandsons: Lonnie Meseberg, Chad Walkins, Casey Meseberg, Jarrod Koustrup, Derek Meseberg, and Dustin Meseberg. Visitation will be at Crawford Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday at the church prior to the services. Delores was born on June 27, 1929, in Watertown, SD, to Charles and Lydia (Miller) Currey. In 1947, she graduated from Watertown High School where she received the Rotary award. On October 30, 1949, Delores married LaVern Meseberg at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. In 1951, the couple along with Arlo and Mae Meseberg owned and operated the Canteen Bar in Watertown. They owned the bar until 1981. While they owned the bar, they also farmed and they continued to farm after they sold the bar. LaVern passed away on February 2, 1989. Delores remained on the family farm. She was a member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. Delores enjoyed all sports and she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren play. She was also a big Dallas Cowboy Fan! Delores and her husband were instrumental in starting the LDee’s Band featuring their children in 1969. Delores is survived by her children: Dianne (Bud) Walkins, Larry (Connie) Meseberg, and LaDonna (Joel) Koustrup all of Watertown, SD; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Meseberg, of Watertown, SD; 13 grandchildren: Jody (Matt) Roberts, Chad (Dixie) Walkins, Amber (Brian) Richter, Lonnie ( Angie) Meseberg, Carrie Meseberg, Lee Ann Meseberg, Casey (Kim) Meseberg, LaDawn Koustrup, Danielle Delores (Billy) Wientjes, Jarrod (Amber) Koustrup, and Derek, Dustin and Shayla Meseberg: 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin “Hap” (Darlene) Currey, of Florence, SD; one brother-in-law, Devon Reeve, of Watertown, SD; and two sisters-in-law, Mae Meseberg and Dixie Currey both of Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Darwin; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
