She was born Aug. 7 1930, Quenemo, the daughter of Albert M. and Carrie Pauline Harford Masenthin. She had lived most of her life in Lyndon but later resided in Ottawa for 22 years. She graduated from Michigan Valley High School in 1948. She attended Ottawa University and Stormont-Vail Nursing School in Topeka. Read More	********************************** Obituary ~ Osage County Herald ~ Osage City, KS Ottawa- Delores Jane Masenthin-Brecheisen, 76, Ottawa, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at her home in Ottawa. She was born Aug. 7 1930, Quenemo, the daughter of Albert M. and Carrie Pauline Harford Masenthin. She had lived most of her life in Lyndon but later resided in Ottawa for 22 years. She graduated from Michigan Valley High School in 1948. She attended Ottawa University and Stormont-Vail Nursing School in Topeka. She continued nursing at the Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka. On July 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Charles Jesse Brecheisen at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar, where they shared more than 57 years of marriage. He survives. In her early years she worked at the Kansas Neurological Institute and continued at the Hilltop Nursing Home in Lyndon. She owned and operated The Bargain Barn in Pomona. She also worked as church organist and baked and decorated cakes for all occasions. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. She was a member of the Lawrence Senior Citizens and Highland Club. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting and knitting where she knitted hundreds of stocking caps for missions all throughout Africa. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; two daughters: Ronda Higdon and her husband, Nelson, Grandview, Mo.; and Rita Masenthin and her husband, Larry, Lyndon; one son, Rex Brecheisen, Lyndon; two brothers, Larry L. and John F. Masenthin; 11 grandchildren: Heath, Ashley and Alyssa Brechiesen; Zeb Gibson, Mahala and Robert Higdon; Duane Chapman; Abie Masenthin; Echo Bell and Donna and Larry Wayne Masenthin; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Michael Brecheisen and Larry Lee Masenthin Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Mikala Urrutia. Services were Thursday, Jan. 18, at Zion Lutheran Church in Vassar. Interment followed at Vassar Cemetery. ***********************************
