Description	:	Delores Jo was the eldest child of Clyde and Lois McCabe Smith, born May 1, 1931. (She disliked her birth name, "Dolores Josephine", and later had it legally changed to "Delores Jo".) Later, she was joined by siblings Jane Ann and Robert Clyde. Delores married her high school sweetheart, Leonard James Rodenbaugh (son of Wilbert Rodenbaugh and Alzora Iona Savage of Guthrie Center, IA), in 1949 at First Christian Church in Des Moines, IA. They moved to California where two daughters were born: Lauretta Joy, in San Diego, and Sherrie Jo in Oakland. Delores returned to Iowa and divorced Leonard. She later married Robert Eugene Foust, who legally adopted Lauretta and Sherrie (and Delores legally adopted Robert's two sons by a former marriage, Jefre Robert and Mikel David). The family lived in Des Moines where Delores worked as a bookkeeper and Bob worked as a Des Moines police officer. Later, Delores and Bob opened a rental store in Indianola, Iowa. They grew tired of the cold weather and moved to Bryan, TX, where Delores and Bob both worked at Texas A&M University until they retired. Delores died in 2002, losing a battle with lung cancer, and was cremated. In 2021, her ashes were interred at the foot of her parents' burial plot in Dalmanutha Cemetery, in rural Guthrie County, Iowa.
