Description	:	Delores Gascho, 88, of Cairo died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River. Delores was born on Oct. 18, 1923, in Beaver Crossing to Meno and Cassie (Stutzman) Schweitzer. Survivors are: husband of 68 years, Glen of Cairo; six children and their spouses, Barbara Loy of Cairo, Jim and Mary Gascho of Grand Island, Allan and Kathy Anderson of Mason City, Dave and Ruth Gascho of Cairo, Randy and Glenda Beckler of Cairo and Bruce and Ginny Landers of Grand Island; a sister, Alverta Eichelberger of Buhl, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and a... Read More	Delores Gascho, 88, of Cairo died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River. Delores was born on Oct. 18, 1923, in Beaver Crossing to Meno and Cassie (Stutzman) Schweitzer. Survivors are: husband of 68 years, Glen of Cairo; six children and their spouses, Barbara Loy of Cairo, Jim and Mary Gascho of Grand Island, Allan and Kathy Anderson of Mason City, Dave and Ruth Gascho of Cairo, Randy and Glenda Beckler of Cairo and Bruce and Ginny Landers of Grand Island; a sister, Alverta Eichelberger of Buhl, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Her family moved to Broken Bow in 1936 where she met the love of her life, Glen Gascho. The couple was married on May 23, 1943, in Broken Bow. Delores was baptized in the Mennonite Church in Broken Bow. The family moved to Cairo in 1953. Delores and Glen attended the Wood River Mennonite Church. Delores loved having people over and entertaining, cooking, baking and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kristi Anderson; a son-in-law, Floyd Loy; two brothers, Clyde Schweitzer and Lester Schweitzer; and two sisters, Hazel Veeder and Sylvia Johnson. Burial was in the Mennonite Church Cemetery north of Wood River, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on November 26, 2011
