She moved with her family to Sioux Falls, SD where she grew up and received her education. Delores married Glen Albers on February 7, 1949 in Luverne, MN. To this union seven children were born. The couple lived in Sioux Falls for a short time before moving to an acreage south of Rowena, SD. Delores worked as a waitress at Chris' Grill for many years. She later worked in the Housekeeping Department at Avera McKennan Hospital before retiring in 1994. Delores married Jack Fitzgerald on October 31, 1996 in Rock Rapids, IA. Grateful for having shared her life are four sons, Gary Albers and his wife, Joan, Gatesville, TX, Gene Albers and his wife, Becky, Larchwood, IA, Grant Albers, Sioux Falls, SD, Giles Mick Albers, Storm Lake, IA; three daughters, Gale Viereck and her husband, John, Larchwood, IA, Gwen Van Veldhuizen and her husband, Donald, Larchwood, IA, Ginger Doherty and Brian Neuroth, Sioux Falls, SD; eleven grandchildren, Christina and her husband, Markus, Amy, Justin, Misty and her husband, Neal, Amber, Paige, Brian and his fiancee, Megan, Ashley, Nick, Nathan and Austin; three great-grandchildren, Devin, Damon and Trevor; nine brothers and sisters, Donald Buus and his wife, Janice, Sioux Falls, SD, Dorothy Masoner, Alexander, AR, Henry Buus and Nancy, Sioux Falls, SD, John Buus and his wife, Anne, Sioux Falls, SD, Harold Buus, Sioux Falls, SD, Michael Buus, Sioux Falls, SD, Luella Mary Johnson and her husband, Milt, Sioux Falls, SD, Margaret VanderMaten and her husband, Wayne, Sioux Falls, SD, Donna VanderMaten and her husband, Ron, Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, Henry and Margaret Buus and Minnie Buus; a grandson, Dylan Gene Albers; and a niece, Christie Buus. Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family for lunch and fellowship at George Boom Funeral Home following the committal service.
