Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at the Mulford Evangelical Free Church in Muscatine. The Rev. Clark W. Pantel of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church will officiate the services. Casket bearers will be Alan Whittaker, Erik Whittaker, Chad Marthaler, Andy Moore and Troy Payne. Read More	MUSCATINE, Iowa - Delores May Blake, 83, Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at the All American Care Center in Muscatine. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at the Mulford Evangelical Free Church in Muscatine. The Rev. Clark W. Pantel of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church will officiate the services. Casket bearers will be Alan Whittaker, Erik Whittaker, Chad Marthaler, Andy Moore and Troy Payne. A honorary casket bearer will be Brian Whittaker. Burial will take place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Mulford Evangelical Free Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Mulford Evangelical Free Church in her name. Delores was born on December 4, 1927, in Muscatine, the daughter of Raymond Kenneth and Mary Irene McCormick McDaniel. She married Raymond Whittaker on December 5, 1943, in Muscatine. She later married Warren Blake on October 24, 1959, in Letts. She was the manager at the lunch counter at Woolworth in downtown Muscatine for many years. She then worked at the Wonder Bread Store for 17-years, retiring in 1991. She attended the Mulford Evangelical Church. She liked to travel to Florida and Branson, Missouri, and attended the Iowa State Fair every year. She enjoyed reading. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her children, Larry Whittaker and wife, Linda, of Lakeland, Florida, Rick Whittaker and wife, Rose, of Muscatine and Tracie Miller and husband, Marty, of Batavia; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Sills and husband, Rick, Alan Whittaker and wife, Heather, Brian Whittaker, Christy Moore and fiance, Ken Gardella, Amy Marthaler and husband, Chad, Andy Moore, Alicia Payne and husband, Troy, Erik Whittaker and wife, Sara, and Morgan Miller; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Lett and husband, Donald of Wapello. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sally; a son, Neal; a sister, Jean Strause; and a sister and brother, Marilyn and Kenneth, in infancy.
