Description	:	Delores Viona Wiederich was born March 14, 1936 to John and Annette Wiederich on their farm near Hosmer, SD. She grew up and attended school there. Delores was baptized and confirmed at First Reformed Church in Hosmer. In 1950, they moved to Aberdeen and Delores worked at the cafeteria at St. Luke's Hospital, Combs Café, Walgreens, and Woolsworth's. Delores married Gordon C. Rath on March 3, 1953 at his farm near Leola. She joined the United Methodist Church at that time. Delores taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Superintendent. ... Delores was baptized and confirmed at First Reformed Church in Hosmer. In 1950, they moved to Aberdeen and Delores worked at the cafeteria at St. Luke's Hospital, Combs Café, Walgreens, and Woolsworth's. Delores married Gordon C. Rath on March 3, 1953 at his farm near Leola. She joined the United Methodist Church at that time. Delores taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Superintendent. She also served as treasurer for the United Methodist Women for three years, and was on the memorial committee for many years. Delores was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. She held all offices there, including, past president parley member. She served three years as South Dakota Conservation District Treasurer and was a leader in 4-H for many years. At the time of her illness, Delores was the president of Star Extension and was chairman of McPherson County Community Family Education Leaders. Delores enjoyed good times with her friends in the Razzle Dazzle Red Hat Club. She was very creative and exhibited at many craft shows. Delores died Tuesday, October 31, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Gordon, Leola, sons Gary (Bobbie) Rath, Leola, and Glenn Rath (Peter Capell), Minneapolis, MN, daughters, Deborah (Craig) Dahme, Mina, SD, Dianne (David) Hoffman, Waterloo, IA, Donna (Mike) Hausvik, Conde, SD, and Dawn (Nickolas) Mashek, Lincoln, NE, sisters, Glorena (Royal) Schnabel, Aberdeen, and Gardella Voeller, Aberdeen, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Herbert and Theodore. Services for Delores V. Rath, 70, Leola, are Friday, November 3, 2006 at Leola United Methodist Church, Pastor Don Peck officiating. Burial at Green Mound Cemetery. Arrangements by Spitzer Funeral Home.
