Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT Friday, July 18, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Kris Nyman officiating. Burial will be at the Beulah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah. Delores was born September 17, 1928, north of Zap, the oldest of seven children, to Jacob and Hella (Walz) Weigum. She was baptized on October 7, 1928, and confirmed on July 12, 1942, at St. John's Wittenburg, north of Zap. She attended Country School, north of Zap, through the 8th Grade. She went on to work numerous jobs in Zap and Bismarck. Delores married Otto Sailer on October 28, 1949, at St. John's Wittenburg, Zap. They farmed west of Beulah until 1957 then moved to Beulah. They raised two children, Arlo and Arlett. Otto passed away on December 20, 1966. She began working at the Beulah Community Nursing Home until retiring in 1993. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Delores became Nana to three grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and Maiya, which were her pride and joy. She spent countless hours babysitting, making all of their favorite foods, baking cookies, sewing, attending their events, and taking care of any of their needs far before her own. Delores enjoyed opening her home to her extended family always offering a place to stay, food/drink, and knitted a special baby blanket for each new baby in the family. She was a resident of the Knife River Care Center since 2010. She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, and visitors, especially her visits from Arlo and Kathy's dog, Fred. Delores was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Delores is survived by one son and daughter-in law, Arlo and Kathy Sailer; one daughter and son-in law, Arlett and Mark Gerde, all of Beulah; two grandsons, Dr. Matthew (Emily) Gerde, Fargo and Andrew (Megan) Gerde, Grand Forks, one granddaughter, Maiya Gerde, Beulah; one brother, Marvin Weigum, Zap; two brother-in-laws, Ted Pachl and Kenneth Grant, all of Beulah; two sister-in-laws, Carol Weigum and Brenda Weigum, all of Zap; and numerous nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Otto; two sisters, Naomi Pachl and Alma Grant; three brothers, Gilbert, Harold, and Dale Weigum; two infant brothers; one sister-in-law, Sharon Weigum; one nephew, Tim Grant; two great nieces, Kristen Nelson and Emily Weigum; and one great nephew, AJ Grant. The family would like to thank Pastor Nyman, Maria Voigt, the staff at Knife River Care Center and Hospice for their compassion and loving care. Delores was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
