She was born December 25, 1931 at Cherokee, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey Lee and Cassie Brown Mason. She attended Cherokee schools and graduated from Crawford County Rural High School in Cherokee. Read More	~~ Deloris Ann Mason Clugston ~~ (December 25, 1931 ~ January 23, 2011) Deloris Ann Mason Clugston, 79, of Cherokee, passed away at 11:36 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Via Christi Hospital of a sudden illness. She was born December 25, 1931 at Cherokee, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey Lee and Cassie Brown Mason. She attended Cherokee schools and graduated from Crawford County Rural High School in Cherokee. On March 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Warren C. Clugston at the Cherokee United Methodist Church. He survives at the family home. Mrs. Clugston was a homemaker. Through joys and sorrows, her love and faith was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren. In her leisure time, she enjoyed oil painting, decorating, and reading. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile. She was an active member of the Cherokee United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a charter member of the Meals on Wheels, which she helped deliver for several years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Vicki Clugston-Boyer of Joplin, MO, Kathi Thompson and husband, Dale of Cherokee, Connie Jeffrey and husband, Jim of Ozark, MO, and Sheri Barnett and husband, Pat of Clearwater, KS; a brother, Danny Mason of Webb City, MO; ten grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Carl Mason, Thurman Mason, and Bill Mason. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 27, at the Brenner Mortuary with Rev. Bob Banks officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherokee City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the Brenner Mortuary. The family requests that memorials be given to the Cherokee United Methodist Church or Vie Medical Clinic. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may also leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com.
