Description	:	Deloris Kocina, 85, of Madison, formerly of Platte Center, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at the Countryside Home in Madison. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with the Rev. Murry Jay Johnston officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Deloris, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Butterfield) Boelter was born Feb. 21, 1926, on a farm near Walnut. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Deloris, the daughter of Carl and Edna (Butterfield) Boelter was born Feb. 21, 1926, on a farm near Walnut. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Venus. She attended rural schools at Walnut and Venus (District 62) before graduating from Verdigre High School in 1943. She worked as a telephone operator in Walnut, Winnetoon, and Fairbury. On Feb. 14, 1950, she married Elmer Kocina. They lived on farms near Winnetoon. In 1970, they moved to Platte Center. Deloris worked at Dale Electronics before retiring in 1988. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and horses. She is survived by: son, Marlin (Doris) Kocina, of Platte Center; three grandchildren: Ashlee (Justin) Young, of Omaha, Amber (Antonio) Pollitt, of Bellevue, and Austin Kocina, of Platte Center; sister, Lucille Alder, of O'Neill; aunt, Maxine Resinger, of Norfolk; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by: husband, Elmer Kocina; parents; and five brothers, Richard, Julian, Willis, Francis and Delbert Boelter.
