Deloyd David Rieger was born December 31, 1940, to Jacob and Matilda (Kurle) Rieger in McPherson County, near Hillsview, SD. Deloyd’s family moved to Bowdle, SD where he attended grade school. Later, the family moved to Mobridge, SD where Deloyd graduated high school in 1959. After graduation, Deloyd attended airline school in Minneapolis and graduated in 1961. He then moved to Aberdeen where he helped his father in a shoe and canvas repair business. On January 1, 1964, Deloyd went from part-time to full-time at Dakota Farmer-North Plains Press as a press operator until the company closed in 1985. On March 29, 1969, he married Vicki Aman in Aberdeen, where they made their home. They divorced in 1981. In 1985, Deloyd and a partner started a Quick Print Shop on Main Street in Aberdeen. In 1986, he went to work at MidStates Printing in Aberdeen until retiring December 31, 2010. Besides the two years he worked part time, Deloyd worked 47 years in the printing industry. Deloyd enjoyed the outdoors, working on his yard, and keeping his vehicles clean. Deloyd liked attending high school and college sports, especially basketball and volleyball. He loved his family and friends very much. Deloyd fell asleep every night listening to his beloved Christian music. Deloyd is survived by his sons, Lance (Susie) Rieger of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, and Chad (Ginny Holcomb) Rieger of Sheridan, Wyoming; siblings: Harry (Ronita) Rieger, Delores (Loren) Nelson, and Darlene Hahler; grandchildren: Jake, Josh, Danielle, and Parker; Ginny’s children: Gabe, Sophie, and Christian; and many nephews and nieces. Deloyd was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Lyle Rieger, Herbert Rieger, Elsie Rieger, Elda Rieger, Violet Rieger; and brother-in-law, Melvin Hahler. - Spitzer Funeral Home
