Read More	The announcement made Sunday morning of the sudden and unexpected death the previous evening of Mrs. J. A. Larrabee, shocked and deeply grieved the many friends of that estimable and beloved woman. Mrs. Larrabee was one of the pioneers of the Chelan valley, having come here with her husband and family in June, 1889, when only a few settlers were scattered along the lakeshore. She had lived here ever since, and as a woman who was devoted to her family, and a thoughtful and courteous neighbor, she has always been held in the highest esteem by all who have knows her and have been associated with her in the community. Her maiden name was Delphia Ann Rich, and she was born at Shoreham, Vermont, on July 15, 1843. She moved with her parent to Wisconsin when she was twelve years old, and on May 15, 1864, she was married to Julius Adelbert Larrabee at Ripon in that state. Her husband was serving in the First Wisconsin Calvary in the civil war and was not discharged until July, 1865. They spent the first few years of their married life in Minnesota, but came to Washington in 1888, settling first at Davenport. The arrived on Lake Chelan on June 19, 1889. Five children were born to them, four sons and one daughter. One son died in infancy. Those living, all of whom reside in this state and were present when the remains of their mother were laid to rest, are Mrs. L. R. Sines and Edward E. Larrabee of Chelan; Frank Larrabee, of ??; and Earl Larrabee of Wilbur. Mrs. Larrabee was 70 years 6 months and nearly 3 days old at the time of her death. All who knew her feel that in her death the entire community suffered a loss, and many friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. Washington Death Certificate Name Delphia A.
