Description	:	Delphia Jordan was born near Sigourney, Iowa, January 14, 1848. She departed this life in her home in Edgar, Nebraska, January 9, 1941, being 92 years, 11 months, 25 days of age. She was married to Geo. W. Basey on September 9, 1869. To this union were born nine children, eight boys and one girl. The little girl died when eleven years of age and the oldest son passed away at Nampa, Ida., in 1935. The happy home was made desolate by the death of her husband nineteen years ago. She departed this life in her home in Edgar, Nebraska, January 9, 1941, being 92 years, 11 months, 25 days of age. She was married to Geo. W. Basey on September 9, 1869. To this union were born nine children, eight boys and one girl. The little girl died when eleven years of age and the oldest son passed away at Nampa, Ida., in 1935. The happy home was made desolate by the death of her husband nineteen years ago. Those nearest and dearest to her who remain are her sons Wood and Earl of Edgar, Wert of Grandview, Ida., his twin brother Bert of Nampa, Harry of Sanger, Calif., David of Grandview and Clayton of Caldwell, Ida. She has 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Sue Richardson, 94 years old, of Sigourney, Iowa, and one brother, Charles Jordan of Hebron, Nebr., are all who remain of her father's family. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Basey came from Iowa o (sic) Nebraska in 1884. They lived in Fillmore county (sic) about eight years, then moved to a farm two miles west of Edgar. On retiring from the farm she moved to Edgar where she has resided for 24 years. It seems Mrs. Basey has always been a Christian having accepted her Christ and was buried with him in baptism when but a child of fourteen. She then united with the Christian church (sic) and only those who have lived with or near to her can realize what a true consecrated Christian she was. She lived a busy, useful life yet always had time to read her Bible, having read it through seven times. She has been an invalid since last May and those who so tenderly cared for her saw her slowly slipping away in her suffering, yet one of the last things she did in her soncscious moments was to pray the Lord's prayer to the very word. If you did not know Mrs. Basey you cannot realize the unselfish, sweetness of her; if you did know her, you will feel words are inadequate. Love begets love and that is why she is mourned by all who knew her. There is something so peaceful and beautiful when such a one has so bravely conquored (sic) the battles of life which beset her. A life well lived, a beautiful soul gone to its reward. The funeral service was conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. W.J. Etherton, and burial was in Edgar cemetery (sic).
