Reeson, 89 years, of Fremont, NE died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Denis was born June 2, 1924 at West Point, NE to Gerard and Frances (Wortman) Reeson. He moved to Fremont while in grade school and was a 1942 graduate of Fremont High School. Denis married Darlene M. Cusick on January 12, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Denis worked for Coca-Cola and ran a restaurant in Albion, NE then came back to Fremont where he worked as a carpenter for Carlstrom Brothers. He was a flour mill employee and later Denis and Darlene were owners of Riepers Shades and Draperies in Fremont. He then was a salesman for Green Thumb and also worked for Liquid Feed Commodities as a blend master. Darlene died January 24, 2009. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council #1497. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont. Denis is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Greg and Donna Reeson of Placentia, CA, Mark & Marsha Reeson of Omaha, NE, Father Dave Reeson of Omaha , Charles "Chuck" Reeson of Fremont and Scott and Cathy Reeson of Fremont; brother, Ralph & wife, Linda Reeson of Kettle Falls, WA; sister, Janette Coffey of Friday Harbor, WA; three grandchildren, Greg Reeson II & wife Michelle, Michael Coufal and Andrew Reeson; four great grandchildren, Zane, Zachary and Natalie Reeson and Erin Coufal; and 3 great great grandchildren, Bentley, Preston and Jackson Kreikemeier. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; son, Stephen Reeson; and brothers, Lloyd and Delwin Reeson. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Fr. Dave Reeson will officiate. Knights of Columbus Rosary will be 7 PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family committal service will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
