Description	:	Denis Gordon Wordes, age 72 of Dysart, Iowa formerly of Clarksville, Iowa, was born June 3, 1940, in Renville, Minnesota, the son of Jennings and Beulah (Hinders) Wordes. He received his education from various country schools while growing up. Denis was united in marriage with Charlene Drenth on April 30, 1960, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. They were later divorced. Denis worked as a logger and trucker for Gordon Norton and later Jim Norton. He also worked for the railroad as well as hauling milk for Larry Adelmund. Read More	Denis Gordon Wordes, age 72 of Dysart, Iowa formerly of Clarksville, Iowa, was born June 3, 1940, in Renville, Minnesota, the son of Jennings and Beulah (Hinders) Wordes. He received his education from various country schools while growing up. Denis was united in marriage with Charlene Drenth on April 30, 1960, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clarksville. They were later divorced. Denis worked as a logger and trucker for Gordon Norton and later Jim Norton. He also worked for the railroad as well as hauling milk for Larry Adelmund. Dennis eventually retired from logging and trucking. Denis was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He had the gift of making people happy. Denis enjoyed buying and selling vehicles and tinkering in his garage. He also enjoyed listening to country music. Denis died on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Denis is survived by five sons, Dwayne (Cindy) of Clarksville, Bryon of Clarksville, Mark of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Paul (James Jensen) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dan (Deb) of Clarksville; one daughter, Cheryl Sherburne of Shell Rock; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Maggie) Wordes of Allison; and two sisters, Shirley Wordes of Teague, Texas, and Rose (Rich) Adelmund of Greene. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in the Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville, (319)278-4245, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.
