August was born September 27, 1887 at Westphalia and Elizabeth, June 20, 1905 at Earling. August bought a farm northeast of Defiance in 1917 and married Elizabeth Henzlmeir in January 1925. The family lived on this farm until August retired. Art's brothers and sisters are: Estelle Quinn, Louis, August, Mary Miller, Rosalie Bluell, Linda Schuettgen, Jean Skinner and Joan (deceased). Denise has one brother, James Polzois of Charleston, South Carolina and one sister, Estella Lilly of Sarasota, Florida. Art and Denise have three children: Kelly Ann, Kersten Bandow living in Defiance, and Jordan in the U.S.S. Navy ~~ USS Fox ~~ at San Diego, Califorma. Art has been a Low Boy driver for Duesenberg, Inc. of Des Moines for the past 17 years. Denise works for Iowa Liquor Commission in Des Moines. Art was in the Air Force for four years and is a member of American Legion.
