Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Yankton with Rev. Larry Regynski officiating. Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Fordyce, Nebraska at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the church. Denise was born on February 7, 1955 at Yankton to Jeremiah John and Patricia Louise (Wiebelhaus) Stevens. She grew up in Fordyce and graduated from Hartington Public School in 1973. She worked at Dale Electronics in Yankton for a couple of years. Denise married Monte Goeden on June 12, 1976 at Fordyce. They made their home in Fordyce for a few months and then moved to South Sioux City, Nebraska where she had an in-home day care for 9 years. They moved to Yankton in 1989 where she worked for JC Penny's for 10 years. Denise then became the marketing director for the Yankton Mall, a position she currently held. Denise was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Yankton. Denise had a smile that would light up any room. She loved spoiling her three boys and three granddaughters and was very proud of their accomplishments. She loved camping, boating and catching more fish than her boys. She loved golf and was proud of her hole in one. Denise took great pride in her flowers and her home which she welcomed everyone to enjoy. Denise is survived by her husband, Monte of Yankton; 3 sons, Wes Goeden and Janelle and their 2 daughters, Paige and Ava of Sioux Falls, SD; Brett and Becky Goeden and their daughter, Sydney of Canistota, SD; Ryan Goeden of Bismarck, ND; a sister, Michelle and Gaylen Carstens of Omaha, NE; 3 brothers, Doyle and Joyce Stevens of Crofton, NE; Doug and Joni Stevens of Fordyce, NE; Dave and Darcel Stevens of Yankton; 3 brothers-in-law, Dick and Susie Goeden of Phoenix, AZ; Greg and Jenny Goeden of Parker, SD; Bill and Christy Goeden of McCook Lake, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeremiah and Patricia Stevens, a sister-in-law, Becky Goeden Bovero and a brother-in-law, Bob Goeden.
