Read More	Dennis Braley Watertown Public Opinion (SD) - Thursday, May 21, 2009 WAUBAY - Dennis Braley, 86, Waubay, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in a hospital at Milbank. Dennis Alton Braley was born June 26, 1922, to Emil and Emma (Carlson) Braley in Webster. The family moved to Brookings, where he attended school and graduated from high school. In September of 1942, he entered the U.S. Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific, where he witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima. Nov. 23, 1946, he married Ruth Wieger in Watertown. After their marriage, the couple made their home in the Milbank area where he worked in the autobody and paint repair business, making it his career. He worked at many towns in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota and also in Denver. In 1987, the couple moved to Waubay where he worked for Sinner Auto until his retirement in the late 1990s. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching westerns on TV, listening to country music and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Waubay; one son, Douglas Braley of Waubay; three daughters, Denise (Ken) Kjos of Mohave Valley, Ariz., Debra (Larry) Evans of Lynd, Minn., and Donette (Gary) Halverson of Lakewood, Colo.; one sister, Ruth Liebing of Brookings; one brother-in-law, John Buittner of Watertown; one sister-in-law, Vera Braley of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
