He apparently succumbed to a major heart attack. He was 74 years old. Dennis was a "one of a kind," very rare and wonderful man, sincerely loved by everyone who knew him. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and no one ever had anything bad to say about him. He was a very quiet, gentle and private man who just loved being in the mountains around nature and small animals. "Even the chipmunks loved him." They would actually come to him and even sit on his lap. He had the biggest heart in the world for all people and animals. Dennis was born in Elwood, Nebraska in 1941, to father Dale Dunbar and mother Vera (Corder) Dunbar. The family moed to Yakima when he was about 12 years old. He lived in Prosser, WA and attended Prosser High School, moved to Yakima for a number of years, eventually moved to Seattle and worked for Kenworth Truck Company about 15 years, then moved back to Yakima to retire. Dennis is survived by two sisters, Nancy Bridges and Vicki Dunbar Ford, two brothers, Allen Dunbar, and Brad Dunbar and Brad's "wife" Virginia, five children, Van Dunbar, Rhonda Dunbar Gregory, Terri Dunbar McGee, Jason Dunbar and Brian Middleton, plus 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Following one of Dennis' final requests (he wanted no "fuss" made over his passing), there will be no funeral, just a very large private family memorial gathering.
