Dennis was born October 7, 1954 in Schuyler, NE to Richard and Celine (Emanuel) Papa. He was 14 months of age before he met his father, who was in the service during the Korean War. "Denny" Papa, 60 years, of Fremont, NE died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE after a lengthly illness. Dennis was born October 7, 1954 in Schuyler, NE to Richard and Celine (Emanuel) Papa. He was 14 months of age before he met his father, who was in the service during the Korean War. He lived in North Bend, NE for a short time and then moved to Fremont. He was a 1972 graduate of Archbishop Bergan High School. Dennis worked for the family business, Papa Trucking and Grading, all his life. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and the Construction Employers Association. Dennis enjoyed cooking and creating new dishes as well as smoking meats. He built his own deluxe smoker. He enjoyed his family and was very generous towards his nieces and nephews. He loved sports and auto racing and was involved in mini tractor pulling. Dennis is survived by his parents, Richard and Celine Papa of Fremont; brother, Dean and wife, Judy Papa of Fremont; nieces, Deanna and husband, Brock Rogers and Jenna and husband, Garrett Anderson; nephew, Dustin Papa; and great niece, Greeley Rogers all of Fremont. Funeral Mass, 11 AM, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. The Rev. Father David Belt will officiate. Visitation with family receiving friends on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and on Thursday at church 1 hour prior to service. A private family committal will be held at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont at a later date. Photo and arrangements by Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Memorials may be given to the donor's favorite charity.
