Description	:	Dennis F. "Bill" Gentry, 83, of Gray Court, passed from this life Feb. 15, 2009 at Laurens County Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Hot Springs, NC, a son of the late Alfred C. and Mae Lampkin Gentry. He had been engaged in farming for many years operating the Gentry Farms where he raised strawberries and blueberries. He was also a beekeeper and was past president of the Beekeepers Association. "Bill" Gentry, 83, of Gray Court, passed from this life Feb. 15, 2009 at Laurens County Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1925 in Hot Springs, NC, a son of the late Alfred C. and Mae Lampkin Gentry. He had been engaged in farming for many years operating the Gentry Farms where he raised strawberries and blueberries. He was also a beekeeper and was past president of the Beekeepers Association. He owned and operated Gentry Hardware in Gray Court. He had been a member of Dials United Methodist Church for 65 years and was past Chairman of the Administrative Board, Chairman of Board of Trustees and PPRC. He was a staunch member of the church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded indeath by his first wife, Nell Harris Gentry and his second wife, Wilma Cox Gentry. He was the last survivor of his immediate family. Other survivors include a step-daughter, Linda Cox Wilkie and her husband, Paul of Woodruff; a step-grandson, Paul Wilkie, Jr. and his wife, Bethany; a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Robertson and her husband, Tom, all of Laurens; a step-great-grandson, Cal Robertson; a special nephew, Dennis "Dink" Sink of Asheboro, NC; and several other nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested for the Alzheimer Association, 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601. Special thanks is extended to his caregivers with HEalth Related Home Care, Rev. Forest Mixon, Marlene Mixon, Betty Thomason, Amanda Suttles, John, Bonnie, Howard, and Arthur Richardson for the special care and love shown to "Bill" during his illness.
