He was preceded in death by his parents. George was born Oct. 2, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leo and Alice Fisher Driscoll. He graduated from Stanwood High School in 1965 and Kirkwood Community College in 1978, with an Associate of Applied Science degree. He married Jean Ann Vorwald on June 28, 1969, in New Vienna, Iowa. He served with the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Busch-Dennis Legion Post 309 of Mechanicsville. He was a member of the Iowa Pork Producers Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Iowa SoybeanGrowers Association and was actively involved in the U.S. Meats Export Federation and Cedar County Extension Service. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus of Tipton. He tried to give back more than he took. A memorial fund has been established.
