Description	:	Dennis G. Schmeling, age 76 of South Shore, South Dakota passed away Friday, June 25, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in South Shore. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 pm, Tuesday, June 29th at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Interment will be at St. Luke's Cemetery (Germantown Cemetery) in South Shore. Pallbearers will be John Schmeling, Tara Schmeling, Dawn Dahle, Joel Ullyott, Mike Henrichs and Lynn Jensen. Dennis Glenn Schmeling was born August 14, 1944 in Watertown, South Dakota to Glenn R. and Verona (Tulowetzke) Schmeling. He grew up in South Shore, South Dakota on the family farm along with six brothers. Dennis graduated in 1963 and has farmed his whole life. He also was an avid trapper. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in South Shore where he was an usher. Dennis also served as a member of the Alban Township Board for 7 years. Dennis is survived by his significant other, Patty Bue; his brothers, Dallas (Kathy) Schmeling of Twin Brooks, SD and Ron Schmeling of South Shore, SD; his sister-in-law, Sharon (Pat) Schmeling-Scott, Florence, SD; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Russell, Milford, Glenn and Galen. Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel is serving the family. www.wightandcomes.com.
