He also leaves to cherish his memory two children, Elliott Cotten (Heather Steinkey) and Melissa (Dwayne) Cotten-Young all of Redcliff; seven grandchildren, Evan Cotten (fiancé, Katie), Dennis Cotten, Jordan Cotten, Searra Steinkey, Damon Grover, Chase Young and Jordyn Young; one great grandchild, Ava Thurrott-Cotten; six brothers, Victor (Velma) Cotten of Abbotsford, Russell Cotten of Empress, Malcolm Cotten of Medicine Hat, Stuart Cotten of Ralston, Brad (Arlene) Engel of Wembley and Colin (Val) Engel of Whitla; two sisters, Colleen (Helmut) Kollross of Stony Plain and Orleen Gale of Nanaimo; his mother-in-law, Edith Sullivan of Redcliff as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Vaughn and Clara Cotten; one sister, Charlotte Baumann and his father-in-law, Ken Sullivan. Dennis was born on August 31, 1946 in Medicine Hat and was raised in the Hays/ Vauxhall area. In 1959 his family moved to Redcliff. Dennis graduated from Medicine Hat High School in 1964 and worked part time at the Redcliff ESSO. He married Linda Baumann on July 20, 1968. On March 7, 1967 he began his employment with Cablevision, which became Monarch Cable and later SHAW cable, retiring on August 31, 2011. He was known as pappa Den to many children in Redcliff.
