Dorey, 65, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. His friends and family surrounded him at the time of his passing. Dennis was born to Ted and Bernice Dorey on February 9, 1943, in Tacoma, WA. He attended Wenatchee public schools and graduated from WHS in 1963. He spent several years as a mason in the Wenatchee Valley for Dorey & Sons Construction. He then went to work for Alcoa until his retirement in 2008. Denny was an avid sports fan and never missed a St. Louis Rams game. In his earlier years, he coached several girl's and women's softball teams, leading many of them to championships. His passion and love for his friends and family will leave a lifelong impression on all of those who were blessed enough to have had him in their life. His sense of humor, strong work ethic, giving nature, love and support, will be severely missed, but never forgotten. Dennis is survived by his children, Ryan Dorey ! of Kirkland, WA, Adam Dorey of Wenatchee, WA and Lindsey Dorey of East Wenatchee, WA; three brothers, David (Becky) Dorey, Bob (Delores) Dorey and Curt (Cindy) Dorey, all of Wenatchee, WA; and one sister, Pricilla (Joe) Minster of Wenatchee, WA. He is also survived by his wife of 23 years, Kathy Dorey of Wenatchee, WA. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2009, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials sent to the Good Grief Center or Wellness Place. He was a lifetime resident of the Wenatchee area, and was a retired masonry contractor. Survivors include his children, Ryan Dorey of Kirkland, Adam Dorey of Wenatchee and Lindsay Dorey of East Wenatchee; his brothers, Dave Dorey, Bob Dorey and Curt Dorey, all of Wenatchee; and his sister, Priscilla Minster of Wenatchee. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
