Description	:	Tragedy struck another Teton county family this week when 16-year-old Dennis Paul Rice was drowned in Bynum Reservoir late Sunday. Funeral services for the standout Choteau High School athlete are schedule today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. in Choteau Methodist Church, Rev. C. Fred Crowe officiating. Rice drowned about 8:30 p.m. as he attempted to swim from a raft anchored off the reservoir’s northeast shore near the east end of the dike. [… continues] The dead boy was born Aug. 31, 1948, in Great Falls, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard J. Rice. He attended elementary school at Bynum and would have been a Choteau High School senior next month. He also would have attended Boys State in August. An outstanding football player, he was named to an all-conference grid team last year. He was active in many school activities and hoped to gain a West Point appointment when he was graduated from high school. He is survived by his parents; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rice; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hamer; a sister, Mrs. Ray (Phyllis) Yeager of Bozeman; and brother, Kenneth.
