Ralph Norman of the Liscomb Church of Christ. Born Dennis Richard Fulton on October 2nd, 1945, in Muscatine, Iowa, he was the son of Richard C. and Marjorie (Pahl) Fulton. He grew up in Wilton Junction, Iowa. His uncle, Harry, who owned the funeral home in Wilton, sparked something in Dennis to follow suit. Dennis marked 52 years in funeral service this year after serving countless families at Estel-Perrin’s in Marshalltown, Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines, Turner Funeral Home and Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, and the Greer Funeral Home in Waterloo. He and Connie also started CODEMIDE Associates, an asset and recovery firm. His family later moved to Whitten and he graduated from the Union-Whitten High School Class of 1963. He returned to his former area, graduating from the Muscatine Community College in 1965 after lettering in basketball and baseball. In 1967, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science. On October 27th, 1968, he married Connie Jo Morris. They made their home in many communities where he was active in church, the Masonic and Shrine, and the lives of his children. He held offices in the Cedar Rapids Washington High Athletic Club and the Marion Christian Church, the Des Moines Jaycees, and El Kahir Shrine. Denny was the youngest Reagan delegate at the Republican National Convention in 1980 in Detroit. Survivors include Connie, his wife of nearly 52 years; daughter Michelle (Aaron) Kooiker of Fairfield, son Derek R. Fulton of Waukee, two grandchildren, Ashton and Landon Kooiker; his siblings, Steve Fulton of Whitten, Sonya (Mike) Moore of Conrad, Peg (Barry) Clemens of Union, and Ron (Dori) Fulton of Windsor Heights; many nieces and nephews; and his treasured aunt Janice Birkhofer of Moscow, Iowa. In death, Dennis rejoined his parents and grandparents. Ralph Norman officiating. Dennis was laid to rest at Benson Cemetery in Whitten. Pallbearers were Derek Fulton, Brandon Clemens, Ryan Clemens, Troy Moore, Reid Fulton, Tyler Fulton, and Ron Fulton. Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Kaput, Gary Long, Deane Galloway, Lowell Coburn, Jim Voss, and Al Heryford. Along with family and friends, groups from Union-Whitten Class of 1963, Masonic members, Jaycee members, and Hagarty-Waychoff-Garup Funeral Service attended.
