Description	:	Dennis Crawford, son of Samuel and Lizzie Crawford, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, Aug 3, 1889. His entire life was spent farming in this vicinity with the exception of 13 years when he was employed at the Clarinda State Hospital. Read More	Dennis Crawford, son of Samuel and Lizzie Crawford, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, Aug 3, 1889. His entire life was spent farming in this vicinity with the exception of 13 years when he was employed at the Clarinda State Hospital. He departed this life at his home near New Market on Aug 20, 1959, at the age of 70 years and 17 days. He was united in marriage to Ida G. Cade on Oct 11, 1911. He was united with the Church of Christ in New Market and was baptized on April 22, 1959. Dennis was a kind and devoted husband, patient and considerate through his many months of suffering, never uttering a word of complaint. He loved his home in which he wanted to remain and to be cared for by his faithful wife. He was a loyal neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, three brothers: Ledger of New Market, George of Clarinda and Howard of Spokane, Wash, three sisters: Iowa Weaver of Burley, Ida, Ella Hill of Chillicothe, Mo, and Anna Ginther of Meadville, Mo; his nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Walker funeral Home at 2 pm Sunday, Aug 23, 1959, with Preacher Clarence Potter in charge, assisted by I.E. Stickelman. Vocal music was by Merrill R. Miller who sang, "Sometime We'll Understand" and "Beyond the Sunset." Organist was Grace Perry. Floral offerings were taken care of by Stella Stephens, Eva Evans, Gladys Adams, Frances O'Neal, Icle McCarl and Charlene Coe. Honorary casket bearers were Art Evans, Babe Adams, Elmer Stephens, Ray Jackson, Lyle Coe, Vern O'Neal, Ralph Pratt, Roy Pratt, Ralph Borden, Ray Glasgow, Clarence Woods and Charles Beauchamp. Casket bearers who carried Dennis to his final resting place in Old Memory Cemetery were his nephews Wade Crawford, Ralph Crawford, Clark Crawford, Dale Crawford, Don Jones and Glen Cade.
