Description	:	Denver Russell Shomo, 78, a resident of the Laurel View Apartments, Route 2 Belington, died at 2 am on October 31, 1981 at his home, following a long illness. He was born February 6, 1903, at Junior, a son of the late William R. and Ada Row Shomo. On September 4, 1926, he married the former Freda Lipscomb, who survives in Belington. He was born February 6, 1903, at Junior, a son of the late William R. and Ada Row Shomo. On September 4, 1926, he married the former Freda Lipscomb, who survives in Belington. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Denver Lee Shomo and Richard Neal Shomo, both of Junior and Rudy Shomo, Victoria, Texas; two daughters, Joyce Pizzoferrato-Peets, Fairfax, Virginia and Shirley Philips, Elkins; two sisters, Sybil Foy, Elkins and Alma Thorn, Belington; four brothers, Stark Shomo, Parkersburg, Hansel Shomo and Chester Shomo, both of Junior and Eldon Shomo, Akron, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death in 1932 by twin children, son Earl and daughter Beryl; three brothers, Kenneth Shomo, Max Shomo, and an infant brother. He was a former coal miner and electrician and was a United Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Belington from 2 pm until 9pm Sunday. The body will be moved on Monday to the Calvary United Methodist Church where friends may pay their respects from noon until 2 pm, the funeral hour. The Rev. Powell Hall, pastor of the church, the Rev. Richard Gibson and The Rev. Meade L. Gutshall will officiate, interment will follow in the Knighs of Pythias Cemetery at Junior.
