He was born April 22, 1911, at Chugwater, Wyo., the son of Ralph G. and Agnes Kinney Pyle, moving to a farm northeast of Iliff with his parents in 1918, He attended Iliff High School and graduated from the Industrial Training Institute of Chicago as an electronic technician. He married Eunice Blaine, Nov. 3, 1931, and the couple began farming near his parents farm northeast of Iliff. Mrs. Pyle died Jan. 4, 1987. The Iliff Lions Club was formed in 1955 and Mr. Pyle was a charter member and the organization's first president. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, served as president of the l School District 54 Board of Education, one of the first board members of the High Plains Coop, charter and board member of the Logan County Farm Bureau and director of North Sterling Irrigation District 1960-1986. He served as director of the. Lower South Platte Water Conser vancy District for 21 years (1964-1985), helped organize and was president of the Lower South Platte Pest Control District from the early 1960s until 1987 and was de puty Logan County Assessor for two years. Mr. Pyle was also past president of the Iliff Band Boosters, a leader of the Iliff 4-H Club during the years his children were involved in 4-H activities. He is survived by four daughters, Joyce Jones and Glennis Lechman, both of Sterling, Norma Yates of Northglenn, and Janice Miles of Denver; two sons, James Pyle of Iliff and Don Pyle of Escondido, Ca lif.; two brothers, Raymond Pyle of Sterling and Vernard Pyle of Blythe, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Chaney-Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
