Description	:	Dewaine Littlewhiteman passed away on December 26, 2020 due to Covid 19 complications. He was born on March 26, 1959 to Wayne and Lucy (Whitedirt) Littlewhiteman in Crow Agency, Montana. He was a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. Dewaine was raised in the Rosebud Creek area and attended school at the Busby Indian Boarding School. He graduated from high school in Busby. Read More	Dewaine Littlewhiteman passed away on December 26, 2020 due to Covid 19 complications. He was born on March 26, 1959 to Wayne and Lucy (Whitedirt) Littlewhiteman in Crow Agency, Montana. He was a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. Dewaine was raised in the Rosebud Creek area and attended school at the Busby Indian Boarding School. He graduated from high school in Busby. Dewaine was a self taught artist and was known for his animal drawings and landscapes . He also repaired saddles and worked for a saddlemaker. Dewaine was an all-around ranch hand and worked on various ranches in Montana and Wyoming. He worked for the Padlock Ranch right out of high school. He also worked on the Arapaho Ranch near Thermopolis, Wyoming. He worked on various construction jobs and drove truck. He married Carlene Hill and they had one son, Wayne and divorced. He later married Natalie Little Owl. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Littlewhiteman. He is survived by his son Wayne, his brothers Mervin Collins, Samuel and Emanuel Little Whiteman; his sisters Ethelene Stump and Janice Bushead of Billings; his many nieces and nephews including those in Wyoming and North Dakota. He will be missed by his many friends on Wind River Reservation, the Fort Peck Reservation and the Crow Reservation as well as in Billings and Hardin areas. His extended family includes the Littlewhiteman, Whitedirt, Manley, Limpy, Littlesuns and Sooktis. He was a direct descendent of Chief Sam Littlesun and Chief Crazy Head. The family apologizes that they were unable to have a wake and traditional funeral, due to the Covid-19 panedemic. A meal will be provided after the services at the cemetery. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Whitedirt Cemetery in Busby, Montana. Bullis Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
