Dewayne was born 10 May 1943, in Viborg, S.D., to Alfred & Martha (SIMONSEN) BAK. He grew up & attended school in Irene, S.D. He married Gerri OLSON on 5 Apr. 1965, to whom 3 children were born. Dave, Dirk & Darren. He worked at various places in South Dakota before moving to Sioux City in 1969. He started Sioux City Ford Tractor. He also owned Bak Equipment & Auto Sales. He later started Bak Honda, Suzuki, Kubota for 35 years. He later married Teresa DEROCHER LANDENBERGER on 21 June 2002, in Sioux City. He was a successful businessman, who was willing to help anyone in need. He was willing to give the shirt off his back to help family or friends. He was a devoted husband, father & son. He was a member of the Blue Lodge, Abu Bekr Shrine Temple & the Moose Lodge in Yankton, S.D. He also attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City. He is survived by his wife, Teresa BAK of Hinton; 3 sons, Dave BAK & his wife, Kati & their children, Shawn, Ethan, Addison & Cambryan of Merrill, Iowa, Dirk BAK & his wife, Amy & their children, Kinsey, Keegan & Kade of Hinton & Darren BAK & his wife, Jacqueline of Atlanta, Ga.; 2 children, Brennen & Kylee LANDENBERGER of Hinton; his mother, Martha SOETH of Irene, S.D.; his brothers, Gene BAK & his wife, Sally of The Village, Fla., Vern BAK & his wife, Brenda of Pierre, S.D.; a sister, Rita & her husband, Bill GUILD of Sleepy Hollow, Ill.; his first wife, Geraldine OLSON of Sturgis, S.D.; his mother-in-law, Bonnie DEROCHER; brothers & sisters-in-law, Pat & Cyndi DEROCHER, Rich & Connie DEROCHER, LouAnn & Ed MCNAMARA, David & Julee DEROCHER, Don & Tammy DEROCHER, Dale & Deb DEROCHER, Paul & Kris DEROCHER, Donna RUHLAND, Mary & Rick KNEIP & Karen & Steve MOUSEL. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred BAK; & 4 brothers, Alvin, Eugene, Merton & LaValle BAK.
