Born in Sumter County on Nov. 17, 1937, he was the son of the late John Allie Barwick and Vivian Brown Barwick. He served for three years in the U.S. Navy and worked for Fluor Daniel Corporation prior to his retirement. He also founded B&B Steel Products in Houston. Read More	SEABROOK, Texas Dewey Allen "Sonny" Barwick, 67, husband of Carol Barwick, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Seabrook, after a long illness. Born in Sumter County on Nov. 17, 1937, he was the son of the late John Allie Barwick and Vivian Brown Barwick. He is survived by his wife of 23 years; his mother of Sumter; a son, Tony Barwick and his wife, Dale, of Sumter; two daughters, Hope Barwick of Pinewood and Christie Hadwin and her husband, Larry, of Pinewood; two stepsons, Jack Bush and Andrew Bush of Texas; two brothers, James L. Barwick and his wife, Patsy, and Steve Barwick and his wife, Debbie, all of Pinewood; a step-granddaughter, Madeleine Bush of Texas; and four grandchildren, Will Barwick and Leah Barwick of Sumter, and Avery Bouska and Bryant Hadwin of Pinewood. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Johnny Barwick. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pinewood Cemetery with the Rev. Bennie Barwick officiating. Adam Barwick, Robby Briggs, Whit Jordan, Benny McIntosh, Michael Walley and Butch Wilson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the home of his son, Tony Barwick, 10 Swan Lake Drive, Sumter. Memorials may be made to the Sumter Rotary Club Cart Fund (Alzheimer's Research), P.O. Box 1916, Sumter, SC 29151. Online condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com. Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home and Crematory, 221 Broad St., is in charge of arrangements.
