A., and a member of 39th Inf. Disability Div. of Greer. He was a retired employee from M. Lowenstein, and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. Mr. Steading was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Lowenstein, and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. Mr. Steading was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Born on January 8, 1922, he was the son of the late W.C. Steading and Euphenia Elders Steading. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mabeline Hudson Steading; two daughters, Lois Bryson and husband, Gary, and Brenda Freeman and husband Alex all of Greenville; two grandchildren Jason Burton of Campobello, Heather Burton of Piedmont; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Shawnna; three brothers, Clarence Steading and Frank Steading both of Greer and Alvin Steading of Mauldin. Mr. Steading is predeceased by a granddaughter, Sonya and a sister Mildred Bayne. Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday at Rock Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Martin Atkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Friendship Sunday School class will serve as honorary escort. Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Wood Mortuary.
