Private family services will be held, followed by burial in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Diane Lynn Jaastad was born Sept. 17, 1958 in Decorah, the daughter of Otis and Jane (Reyerson) Tollefson. Jaastad, age 61, of Decorah, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. Private family services will be held, followed by burial in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Diane Lynn Jaastad was born Sept. 17, 1958 in Decorah, the daughter of Otis and Jane (Reyerson) Tollefson. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. Diane graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1978. Diane was united in marriage with David G. Jaastad Feb. 8, 1986 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah. They were blessed with one daughter, Emily J. Jaastad. They were later divorced. Diane worked at Anundsen’s Publishing Company and later worked at Collins Aerospace for 28 years. She retired from Collins Aerospace on Aug. 27, 2020. Diane was always pleasant and had a smile on her face. She loved her family. She spent a lot of time with her daughter and helped take care of her grandchildren. They called her Di-Di. She enjoyed attending the family reunions and visits to other family members. She loved to go shopping with her daughter, grandchildren, and her mom. She liked to play cards and do word games. Diane spent a lot of time in her yard taking care of her many beautiful flowers and etc. She adored her dog Huxley. She was loved by all who knew her. She will always be in our hearts and memories. Diane died Friday morning, Sept. 4, 2020 at Winneshiek Medical Center at the age of 61. Diane is survived by one daughter, Emily Jaastad of Decorah; her parents, Jane and Otis Tollefson of Decorah; three grandchildren: Anthony, Brandi, and Micah; one brother, Steve Tollefson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one sister, Deb (Mike) Gallagher of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her former husband David G. Jaastad, and his parents Gerald and Eileen Jaastad. Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is serving the family. Diane L. Jaastad, age 61, of Decorah, IA, died Friday, September 4, 2020 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. Services are pending at this time. Private Family Graveside Services will be in the Hesper Public Cemetery in Hesper Township, rural Decorah, with Military Honors. Diane is survived by her daughter Emily Nehls of Decorah; her grandchildren; her parents Otis and Jane Tollefson of Decorah; and her brother Steve Tollefson of Phoenix, AZ.
