Description	:	Diane Rose Sole, daughter of Clarence and Beverly (Stichka) Sole, was born June 14, 1972, at Superior, Nebraska. She passed away Thursday, October 12, 2000, at her farm home near Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 28 years, 3 months and 29 days. She attended Nelson Public Schools, graduating in 1990. Read More	Diane Rose Sole, daughter of Clarence and Beverly (Stichka) Sole, was born June 14, 1972, at Superior, Nebraska. She passed away Thursday, October 12, 2000, at her farm home near Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 28 years, 3 months and 29 days. She attended Nelson Public Schools, graduating in 1990. While attending high school, she worked at Sportsman Corner in Nelson. She then attended Central Community College in Hastings for Business Management. Diane then attended and graduated from Joseph's College of Beauty in Hastings in November 1995. She worked at Allen's Grocery Store in Hastings for four years while attending college. After graduation, she worked at Reflections, then Regis Hair Styling at the Imperial Mall, both in Hastings. Diane's cancer was first diagnosed in August 1996 while working at Regis. She began a routine of chemotherapy under the direction of Dr. David Howe in Hastings. Weakened by treatments, she moved back to her parents' home near Nelson in January 1997. By January 1999 she felt well enough to work as a dietary assistant at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson. In February of that year, she realized a lifelong dream of attending race week at Daytona 500 in Florida. Later she assisted as a leader at church camp, serving as a camp couselor at Kamp Kalo at Burwell, Nebraska. In June she went back to work as a cosmetologist at The Cutting Edge in Superior. Diane was a member of Nelson Community United Church of Christ where she served on the Christian Education Board. She put God first in her life followed by family, friends and her job. She had volunteered as a Brownie Scout leader, being named Mission Smart chairwoman, putting her in charge of educational activities. She recruited walkers for a Miracles and Memories team and participated in the Nuckolls County Relay for Life. The 2000 Nuckolls County Relay for Life was dedicated to Diane. She loved doing crafts and making her own greeting cards. Collecting angels was a hobby and the Relay for Life teddy bears she received were added to her collection, fitting right in with the angels. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Edward and Lenore Stichka and Clarence and Alleen Loretta Sole. Survivors include her parents, Clarence and Beverly of rural Nelson; three brothers, Richard Sole and his wife Christy of Lucerne, Missouri, her twin brother, Dwight Sole, and his wife Kasey and Carroll and his wife Sharon, all of Nelson; three sisters, Barbara Otto of Lucerne, Missouri, and brother-in-law John Otto of McPherson, Kansas, Roberta Rowley and her husband Bud of Superior, Nebraska, and Dolores Warren and her husband Gary of Nelson; 13 nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews. Diane was very passionate about her family. She was at her happiest when she was with her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives. They played games and spent hours with family. She loved spending one on one time with the younger children. Holidays and birthdays were special to her - giving gifts and sending cards to her friends. Diana has many friends, and each one was special to her. She had courage, faith and love. She left a legacy to all that knew her. Funeral services were held Monday, October 16, 2000, at 10 a.m., at the Community United Church of Christ in Nelson with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sturdy officiating. Music was "Footprints" with Ruth Watts as soloist and "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Be" with Stephanie Thayer as soloist. Carlita Price was organist and accompanist. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery. Pallbearers were Christopher "Butch" Nitz, Troy Seybold, Lyle Bouc, Steve Fox, Vaughn Davis, Craig Cox and Travis Whitten. Honorary pallbearers were John Otto, Walter "Bud" Rowley, Gary Warren, Carroll Sole, Richard Sole and Dwight Sole. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
