She grew to womanhood in Ohiowa, attending most of her school years there and graduating from the Ohiowa high school in 1935. Koahler, daughter of Fred Pfingsten and Emma Domeier Pfingsten, was born at Ohiowa, Neb., May 17, 1918. She grew to womanhood in Ohiowa, attending most of her school years there and graduating from the Ohiowa high school in 1935. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. John's Lutheran church of Ohiowa. Dorothy was united in marriage to Earl Koaher in 1937. To this union two children were born: Sharon Sue, who was born at Geneva February 1, 1951, and Dianne Kay who was born at York October 1, 1954. Mrs. Koahler, Sharon and Dianne died together May 9, 1959, at their farm home between Geneva and Milligan. Mrs. Koahler was a member of the First Congregational church, to which she had transferred her membership. She was a member of "Twig Benders," the Woman's Fellowship group of the church for the mothers of pre-school children. She had taught in the nursery department of the Sunday school. Sharon Koahler attended second grade at School District No. 2, Fillmore county. She and Dianne were members of the Sunday school of the Congregational church in Geneva. They are survived by the husband and father, Earl Koahler. Mrs. Koahler is also survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pfingsten of Sidney, three brothers, Willard of Gardena, Cal., Walter of Geneva and Andy of McCool, and by a sister, Mrs. Velma Blanke of Sidney. They all leave a host of relatives and friends to mourn their passing. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church in Geneva at 2 p. m. Tuesday. Rev. Robert J. Kasper officiated. Mrs. Gerald Pickerell sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Jesus Loves Me." Mrs. Willard Foster was accompanist. Pallbearers were Mrs. Koahler were Louis C. Domeier, Marlin Domeier, Carl Justa, Gustav Thomas, Melvin Thomas and Myron Uldrich; for Sharon Sue pallbearers were Ernest Luksik, Keith Poch, Donald Turek and Raymond Uldrich; for Dianne Kay pallbearers were Robert Clark Jr., Larry Churchill, Larry Leaming and William Turek. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal May 14th, 1959 page 9.
