Description	:	DICK A. BUCKLEY Dick Buckley, age 85 of Cozad, passed away April 24, 2012 at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood. Dick was born February 6, 1927 south of Cozad, Nebraska to Guy and Iva (Adamson) Buckley. Dick graduated from Cozad High School in 1944. Dick was born February 6, 1927 south of Cozad, Nebraska to Guy and Iva (Adamson) Buckley. Dick graduated from Cozad High School in 1944. In September of 1950, Dick entered the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. Following his discharge in 1952, he returned to Cozad, where he farmed. On March 17, 1953, Dick married Gladys P. Fenton at Omaha. The couple was blessed with 3 children, Patricia, Brent and Rod. The couple made their home southwest of Cozad near the Henderson Ranch. In 1955, the couple moved to the Buckley family farmstead, where they farmed and ranched. In addition to farming, Dick also enjoyed raising cattle. Every spring, he thoroughly enjoyed helping Carl and Eddie Hueftle move their cattle to pasture. Dick was an active member of the rural fire department for over 40 years and had served as past president of the Cozad VFW. He enjoyed going to rodeos where he would even flag on occasion. Dick was a farmer by necessity, but a cowboy at heart. One of his favorite things to do was ride his mare through the hills on Sundays. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys in 2008; 2 infant sisters; 3 sisters, Margaret Kennedy, Arlene Muirhead and Doris Koch. Survivors include his daughter, Patricia (Bruce) Keiser of Colby, KS; 2 sons, Brent (Pam) Buckley of Hawaii, Rod (Dori Hollenbeck) Buckley of Winner, SD; 4 grandsons, Nathan Buckley of Nevada, MO, Michael Buckley of Pratt, KS, and Austin and Colin Buckley both of Hawaii; best friend, John Yeutter of Eustis; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad with Pastor Mike Dennis officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad.
