Description	:	He was born on May 11, 1937 on a small farm near Bryant, SD to Dick and Esther (Hanger) Dede. Dick was the second of four children. The family lived in various places in SD, including Bryant, Lead, Deadwood, and Rapid City. He was baptized as an infant at the Lutheran church in Bryant and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Lead. Dick was the second of four children. The family lived in various places in SD, including Bryant, Lead, Deadwood, and Rapid City. He was baptized as an infant at the Lutheran church in Bryant and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Lead. He graduated a Scottie from Bryant High School in 1955. While in school, he participated in student council, yearbook, and band. His short stature would not keep him from sports, as he played football and was a guard on the first five for the basketball team. Determined, confident, and quick with wit, his senior quotation simply stated, Cesar was short, Napoleon was short, and Im not so tall myself. His love of music was further cultivated while playing in the familys dance band The Fiddle DeeDees at various locations in SD. Dick went to work for the Mel Scheib Company in Rapid City, two weeks after graduation. He moved to Billings in May of 1958 to work at a small branch of the company in a Quonset hut with no running water. He soon found himself running that branch with a single employee. His desk was a couple of two drawer filing cabinets, a hollow core door and a couple of salvaged dinette chairs. The location burnt down, and the name would change to Northwest Pipe Fittings, Incorporated, but he would stay involved for the next 62 years helping the company as it expanded within the state and grew to employ over 140 people. He attributed the success of the organization to the people employed there and the customers. Saying it was simple, If you find people that are better than you at something, hire them to do that for you so you can do something else. and If you dont think the customer is important, do without them for thirty days and let me know if you change your mind! He loved business and entrepreneurship and would go on to invest in, participate in, or advise numerous companies and individuals over the years. He was a member of the Montana National Guard and several civic organizations such as the Kiwanis, Rotary, and Elks clubs. In the fall of 1958, Dick attended a dance in Bridger, MT. He must have paid attention while playing at dances and learned some smooth moves, because it was here he would meet the love of his life Ada Graham. They were married on June 30, 1959. He would bring work home and she worked by his side to help him. They were a great team, and would collaborate on and raise three children Dick Jr., Kathy, and Michael. Dick loved his family, friends, and the outdoors, putting on many miles hunting, fishing, and riding trials bikes. Dick is survived by his son Dick Jr. (Sheri) Dede, daughter Kathy (George) Jurovich, and son Michael (Veronica) Dede.
