Keasling, 53, an employe of John Morrell & Co., died at 10:35 p.m. Friday at the St. Joseph hospital. His home is at 806 South Moore street. The son of Mathias and Malissa Farmer Keasling, he was born in Ollie on January 12, 1901. He had lived in Wapello county the past 15 years, and had worked at the Morrell plant for eight years. He was a member of the Methodist church and Aerie No. 114 of the Eagles lodge. He was married to Mattie E. Garner at Burlington on July 25, 1953. Besides his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Sharlene Garner, at home; a stepson, Gene Skinner, Ottumwa; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Bales, Fairfield and Mrs. Leo Reynolds and Mrs. Charles Schriner [sic], both of Ollie, and his mother, Mrs. Malissa Keasling, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, and a brother. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. B. Roy Brown, pastor of Willard Street Methodist church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. Members of the Eagles lodge will serve as pallbearers.
