Description	:	Dicy was my Great-great grandmother. She was the daughter of John Meredith "Marady" Lucas and Dicy Ann Sugg. Wife of Bryant B. Beaman, and mother of Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Catherine, Linney F., Nancy Belle, Luella Arvella, William Emmett and Etta May. Obituary: Mrs. Beaman died Saturday evening at the home of her son, E. Beaman of heart failure. She was born in North Carolina, July 29, 1829. At the age of 21 she married Bryant Beaman. To this union were born nine children. Seven daughters and two sons. Six children are left to mourn her departure. Three having passed away in infancy. In 1867, the family came to Harrison County and has made their residency here every since. In early girlhood, Mrs. Beaman professed faith in the savior and united with the Baptist Church of which she has proven a true and devoted member and a steadfast Christian. The funeral was held in Magnolia today at 11 A.M. and was conducted by the Reverend George Campbell of Benson and the remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery by the side of her husband who died two years ago.
