Description	:	Dierk Claussen, who passed away at his home, 900 South Eighth street, at 11:30 o'clock this morning, was born July 13, 1835,in Schleswig-Holstein. He came to this country in 1854 and settled in Davenport and in 1878 moved to Clinton county. He was united in marriage to Miss Christine Laumbach of Goose Lake in 1861 and to this union 10 children were born, two dying in infancy. Mrs. Claussen passed away February 1, 1883. Read More	Dierk Claussen, who passed away at his home, 900 South Eighth street, at 11:30 o'clock this morning, was born July 13, 1835,in Schleswig-Holstein. He came to this country in 1854 and settled in Davenport and in 1878 moved to Clinton county. He was united in marriage to Miss Christine Laumbach of Goose Lake in 1861 and to this union 10 children were born, two dying in infancy. Mrs. Claussen passed away February 1, 1883. October 28, 1885, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Catherine Gloe at Lyons and they lived on a farm near Goose Lake until 1892 when they moved to Lyons and have resided at their present home since that time. Mr. Claussen at the time of his death was 84 years, two months and seven days of age. About eight days ago he was taken ill with bronchitis which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Claussen was well known, an honest upright man and a valued member of St. John's Lutheran church since 1893. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Catherine Claussen of Lyons, four daughters, Mrs. Anna Gloe of Schaller, Mrs. Carrie C. Deering of Chicago, Mrs. Lina Haberer of Chicago and Mrs. Hanna Cramer of Akron, O.; four sons, Henry Claussen of Ogden, Andrew of Goose Lake, George of Thomas, Oklahoma, and John Claussen of Miami, Fla., and four step-children, Chris Gloe of Dell Rapids, S.D., Henry Gloe of Schaller, Mrs. Elizabeth Grantz of Manning and Mrs. Amelia Robinson of Denison.
